Slightly off topic here--but i think--for once--the WT is right to keep the KH's closed here in the UK. We are about to go into another wave of covid--and what better way to transmit than in a packed meeting room.

What Did You Think Of The Songs Sung At The Kingdom Hall?
by minimus inwhen i was younger we had song books and i recall that some of the songs were pretty catchy.
then they revised it took some of those songs out, and added more.
i have to admit some songs were pretty good.

what was the title of the song that went--" what will you bring, Jehovah's kingdom..?" it was quite catchy--but i dont think it was in the 60's song book.
some of the titles were quite funny--but i like to invent even better ones..

It is just as wrong to talk that way about your wife in an open forum on the internet to strangers as it is to shun people because they won't believe what you want them to.
the poster was using a username--and not naming his wife---in person. For all we know it could all be made up! i know exactly where he is coming from--but i got lucky--my born in dubbette divorced me 40 years ago...happy days !

What are your personal reasons for hating the Jehovah's Witnesses religion ?
by Rocketman123 infirst thing comes to mind is that this organization through its leaders are not witnessing the true and honest version of the gospel teachings of jesus christ .. they are subjectively teaching/preaching a tainted version made up by the top controlling men of the organization, which i'm sure is connected to the proliferation and distribution of literature which these men publish themselves.

when jesus said that no one knows of the time not even he, he didn't say a select few will know .. the other thing that bothers me is this organization promotes human ignorance on many levels, admonishing education or knowledge that mankind needs for its very survival... there are many other religious organizations that do this as well but the jws is just one of these organizations.

Reason why fancy dress up parties were totally band!
by Witness 007 inwe had a fancy dress up party in our congregation.
elders special pioneers and many others came, though some came as cowboys and pirates with guns and swords which was not in line with the watchtowers "beat your swords into plough sheers.
" some sisters were belly dancers....yes they exposed their stomachs.....shock horror!

There were a number of teen/20's parties back in the 60's in the Midlands in the UK--especially on sunday evenings after the circuit assembles. The usual smoking drinking fights and fooling around. Pretty harmless on reflection--but they got banned anyway.

The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - how much crack was JJ Abrams smoking when he made this? lol (spoilers)
by LoveUniHateExams ini saw the rise of skywalker (2019) a few weeks ago.. and it is totally crazy, lol, it has everything but the kitchen sink.. i can somewhat feel for writer/director jj abrams because rian johnson went f**k up in the previous film.. e.g.
in the force awakens (2015), abrams introduced snoke, but then in the last jedi (2017) johnson killed him off, the same thing happened to luke.. but that doesn't really hide hollywood hack abrams from criticism of this movie.
bringing back emperor palpatine - i mean, really?.
